Update : For Mac users, solution 3 is too painful and not working well for me. Anyway, unless you have other suggestions I'll leave it as is and update when the next update comes around, in a more organised way. The new R version appear right after I install R and restart RStudio. You can also update and install packages from this tab. It will list all the currently installed packages and have a check mark next to them if they are currently loaded and ready to use. I'm fine with that except that when I checked my C:\ drive 4.2.3 is showing there with a similar group of folders compared to earlier versions, somehow the process didn't go the whole way to completely install R 4.2.3. If you are using RStudio, you can also check out the Packages tab. As has been suggested there may be no advantage persisting with this update.I would sure appreciate some assistance getting out of this mess, can you help please?

I also need to update Posit as well but I haven't gotten very far with that either. Super simple question that I cannot find an answer to: I currently have RStudio Desktop 1.1.456 installed on Windows 10 and just downloaded 1.3.959 via the Check for Updates menu option in RStudio. I can see on my C:\ drive that the 4.2.3 version is there but when I check the version in RGui it shows me that I have 4.2.2 installed. If you are using the Rgui, you will see a new menu added on your top right (just by help), giving you the option to update R, or install new software. I have tried the website:īut I've found I got lost not following the instructions exactly. Initially R alerted me that there is a new version 4.2.3.

Security Patch Security Update for Windows 8.1 for 圆4-based Systems (KB3020393) A security issue has been. I'm relatively new to R and as well I have been away from it for a while (6 months). Security Update for Windows 8 (KB3063858) A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft software product that could affect your system.
